Red Rock

Me and the boys in the quarry

So I got the bright idea to take the boys along with my nephews to Red Rock with my mom. Big mistake. It was fun but Erik was super heavy in his sungli and AJ just did not want to walk with us or hold our hands. But we did have a good time. My oldest nephew Ashton wanted to stay home with my brother which was fine(he would have only wanted to go higher on everything). We took the kids trail and hiked up to see a waterfall, yes you heard right a water fall in the desert. But I could have lived without doing it because the waterfall had less water than my shower gives. But it is the desert. Best part of the day was AJ slept from 6pm to 7am!!!

Having a picnic before our hike

The water fall do you see it? Remember to look closely

Happy Easter!

AJ loved the eggs

The only picture I have of him with his basket.

What on Earth did you put on my head?!?!
I like how he is sticking out his tounge out at his duck.

I love Easter. It is always so much fun. AJ did not really get it this year but I am sure he will next year. We started out with dying eggs with my nephews Ashton and Malaki. AJ absolutely LOVED it. He just did not know how to be gentle so he just threw them in the cups. So all of his eggs were cracked. But he got a kick out of it and our reaction every time he did it. He even had to have a little taste of the egg dying mixture and the egg shells. Neither of which he liked, but who would? We went to an Easter egg hunt in Mountain's Edge park and had a great time. But the hunt was over in like 30sec no joke. That did not bother AJ though he picked up one for each hand and was done. On Easter Sunday the Easter bunny came while we were at church and once again AJ just did not care. He picked his 2 things out of the basket that he wanted and then left me to do the rest which was fine with me. Erik had a blast though, he loved opening everything.

I do not know how to make a college yet so sorry about all of the pictures.

Birthday and a car show

The birthday girl!

I went with my mom to pick up my nephews last Saturday in Cedar City Utah. While up there we had a birthday celebration for my niece Alanna who turned 5! That is so crazy, it seems like just the other day she was a new born. We lucked out and was able to see a car show. There were not too many cars. But it was still fun.

Nannie snuck Erik some icing. But I think he looks so big in this picture.

The boys

Erik, Malaki, Ashton & AJ

My Boys

Handsome man

My favorite of Erik

Brotherly Love

My nephews Ashton and Malaki are in town from UT and my mom decided to get a picture done of just the boys. Well it was VERY hectic. But the pictures are cute. Although I think that we have decided that next time I will take the pictures because it was too expensive for what we got and I know I could do better with just a couple more props. Plus this lady was just crazy. She looked like she was on something and was not that great for supposedly having 4yrs of experience. Here are just a few of the pictures.

I will have more posts coming because this has and is going to continue to be a very eventful week with birthdays, egg dying, Red Rock Easter and just having soo much fun. But I am just way tired, and hardly have time to do things.

Erik is 6mo old!!!!

I can not believe that my baby boy is 6mo old! You are such a happy boy, and you are now 17lbs 14oz and 25 and 3/4in. You can roll over from back to belly. But oddly enough not belly to back. You get so mad when you have tummy time. You love to get all the attention you can get, you love to just sit and watch AJ play and love it when he comes to play with you, especially when he tickles you. When you play in your jumperoo, play mat or just play on the floor with a whole bunch of toys you get so excited. I love it when you laugh. It makes me so happy. You are such a happy boy, but you also are demanding. When you are hungry it is right now. You still have not started baby food or cereal, not because Mommy is lazy but because you always get a really really bad belly ache. You are still sleeping in your swing. You love that thing so much. When for some reason you sleep in your bed you are up all night. We all love you so much and are loving watching you grow and learn.

A couple of days ago Arli saw that I put Erik's is 6mo old today on the 19th. So he says, what is he getting? At least a cake right? So we decided I would make him a half year birthday cake. No presents though because that is taking it a little to far.

Erik and his 1/2 year cake.

Here are some pictures of Erik doing what he loves most.

Just being cute

He is a jumping champion

He is actually liking being on his belly. (this is a miracle)

Big Boy Bed!!!

AJ finally got a big boy bed yesterday. I have been wanting to switch him for a while now. But we also wanted to feel safe about him not using the baby monitor anymore. He did great for his first time. No getting out of bed before falling asleep anyways. I checked up on him like 10 times with in the first hour he was asleep. He did scare the crap out of Arli at midnight and me at 3am by just walking into our room. At 3 I finally put him in his crib. He did great for nap time today though, and I figured that we will put his gate up tonight so he won't scare us half to death. He is a wild sleeper as you can tell from the pictures.

The first time I checked on him.

The 2nd one like 10min later

obviously he does not wake up when falling out of bed.

Long night

So today was AJ's test. I am glad that it is over with. I am horribly tired. Yesterday he ended up not taking a nap at all. I have no clue why just did not want to. Plus he had to stay up so he finally went to bed at 12:30. But I guess the jealousy that he was able to stay up got Erik because guess what...yep he was up till 12:30 too! He just would not go to sleep. No matter what I tried. So here are both boys wide awake just before 12:30. Yes that is a mt. dew bottle by AJ and he is eating a cookie. I was trying at 12am to get him to stay up till 1am. But it did not work. The reason he is in just a diaper is when he had pj's on he was too comfy and kept almost falling asleep before 12.
Erik & AJ wide awake

10 min. later

Then as soon as I dressed him he was out, and with-in 5min of him being asleep Erik was out. Of course I fell asleep too. But then woke up and am glad because if I would not have had my alarm clock I would have slept in.

Mommy sleepin with her boys

Passed Out!!!

His test went good. When we got there the nurse actually asked me if he was tired. Ummm duhh he has only had 5hrs of sleep in under 24hrs. He hated the medicine but feel asleep within minutes of having it. He is actually still asleep and it is now 3:10. But they said that some kids either sleep or stay awake for the rest of the day so I am not worried. The test results should be back in a week. Lets just pray that he does not have a hearing problem. I would hate to have him get tubes.
AJ ended up sleeping until 4:30!! He has not taken a 6+hr nap since he was like 2-3mo old.

All hooked up and ready to go.

need some ideas

So I have mentioned before that AJ has to get his hearing checked. It was finally approved by our insurance and is scheduled for next Wednesday. But there is sort of a catch. In order for him to have this test he has to be asleep. Which is fine, but they want me to make sure he does not get anymore than 5hrs of sleep on Tuesday night. How on Earth am I supposed to keep him up all night?? I mean you saw the video I just posted he will fall asleep sitting in a chair if he has to. I thought of spending a lot of time in the bath tub, and to let him not take a nap on Tuesday so he will fall asleep around 6. then wake him up around 8-9. Then let him fall back asleep at midnight and wake him up at 5am and not fall asleep until the testing.

I will be so happy when this is done with. But if he is not sleepy for this test they will have to give him medicine, and I really would like to avoid that.

To give some info on the test, just if your wondering. It is an EEG-ABR. I have no idea of what ABR means. But from what they have explained it is similar to the newborn hearing tests babies get in the hospital.

This is old, but like a couple of my fellow bloggers I do think every post should have a picture.

All about AJ

This post is going to be all about AJ. For the last few days we have been picking on AJ. I know it is mean. But it is nothing bad just playing with him.

On Thursday when I was getting him ready for bed he decided he did not want to put his arms in his sleeves. So I zipped him up. That is all I was going to do, then he goes and shows Arli and Arli ties his sleeves behind him. If that wasn't enough he feel down and could not get up. But he did find a way to escape.

He was to focused on trying to escape to look at me.
I did it I'm free!!!

Then Saturday we were at my mom's all day. We woke up at 5:20am and he is one of those kids who has to fall asleep in his bed or he does not fall asleep. So needless to say he was really tired. I tried to get him to lay down and go to sleep over and over again but he just wouldn't. So while we were eating lunch (thanks to my lil bro Kenton who made lunch any girl is going to lucky cause he cooks good and is only 16) AJ was trying to eat and sleep. He could not decided which was better. I had to video tape it because he has never done this. He even tried to "drink" his sandwich. He put the bowl up to his mouth and tried to drink it. He was exhausted. Nannie's boy

So AJ has yogurt almost everyday and loves it. We were at my mom's and he was having it for snack while my mom and I were working on making Joslynn's blanket, it is made from all of her clothes. Well a cat walked into my moms back yard and I went to get AJ so he could see it. This is what I found. He is never this messy with his yogurt. But I guess he felt like being messy today.
This is yummy Mommy!!

Random

I decided to take some pictures today of the boys just playing. This is what they do a lot of the day when we have lazy days. Although I am very happy to say that AJ has found a new love....books. He will read all day, and always wants us to read to him. I am so happy, I never really read to him before. I would but only every once in a while. This also helps with his speech. Since the dr's are worried about it. I have even started taking him to the library and he did awesome! We did not stay long because we were in a hurry plus he just wanted to play with the other kids and not read. But he was not loud, did not run around and held my hand the whole time. He gets to pick out 10books every 2wks. And I am totally stealing this great idea from my friend Annie, but I am going to get him a library basket so we keep the library and our books separate.

AJ was in time out for hitting and found his book and my big blanket and started reading, I thought it was so cute that I could not be upset at him anymore although he did hit Erik. So he still had to do time out.

Erik has been getting better since being back on the amoxicillin. Which I am so thankful for. He sure does know how to scare us. He has been super happy the last few days. I think he is teething because he is drooling like crazy and is always chewing on his fists. Arli even asked for a paci for him because he does not want him to get to sucking his thumb or fingers (which is amazing because Arli has always hated paci's and refuses to give our kids one).

I love this boy

Arli will probably be switching jobs in March. Which is good. The place he is looking at has great commission checks. His friend who works there now says that last months highest commission given out was $9,800! Which is awesome and it is fairly easy to achieve.

I am doing good too. Not doing nothing new and exciting, just loving being a mom and wife and trying to keep up with everyday things.

Kitchenaid

So here is the picture of the knives grandma. do you see the spots? They sort of look like little rust spots. Sorry to everyone else. But I had to show this to my grandma because the warranty is almost up.

Erik update

So I took Erik to the dr's and they did not hear anything in his chest. They did a booger test to see if he had RSV and it came back and he does not have it. Thank goodness. They also did 2 chest x-rays. We do not have those back yet. She decided to put him back on the amoxicillin because he is only congested when he drinks his formula. So he is now that he is back on formula he is also back to not sleeping very well and being super congested. This makes me think milk allergy. He does perfect when he is on pedialite. But he was on it for 3days straight and the dr does not want him on it too much. So for now we have to wait until friday to see if his medicine is helpling. If not I am going to talk to the dr about milk allergy.

So beautiful

"What in the world is she doing to us???"

The babies all tired out

My sister came down from Cedar City today with my Aunt, cousin and 3 of my nieces. All the other kids had school so that was a bummer. But we had a blast. My mom and I watched all 3 girls while the adults went to a food convention. (they run a cafe in Cedar) So we had a almost 5yr old, 2yr old, 20mo old, 5mo old and a 2mo old. It was ALOT of work. But it went a lot better than I thought. We only had 1fall and 2meltdowns by the older ones and the babies were babies and slept alot. AJ had a blast playing with the girls. He loves being around his cousins. It is always fun when they come up. They do however get annoyed with me because it seems like I have a camera in their face the whole time. Which will only happen more once I get my dslr camera, so kids you are forewarned. here are some pictures from our fun filled day. I did not get too many good ones of the babies. My camera messed up and when one of them was awake the other was asleep. But I will try to find one. Erik looks like a monster compared to Oaklie.
