Erik is 6mo old!!!!

I can not believe that my baby boy is 6mo old! You are such a happy boy, and you are now 17lbs 14oz and 25 and 3/4in. You can roll over from back to belly. But oddly enough not belly to back. You get so mad when you have tummy time. You love to get all the attention you can get, you love to just sit and watch AJ play and love it when he comes to play with you, especially when he tickles you. When you play in your jumperoo, play mat or just play on the floor with a whole bunch of toys you get so excited. I love it when you laugh. It makes me so happy. You are such a happy boy, but you also are demanding. When you are hungry it is right now. You still have not started baby food or cereal, not because Mommy is lazy but because you always get a really really bad belly ache. You are still sleeping in your swing. You love that thing so much. When for some reason you sleep in your bed you are up all night. We all love you so much and are loving watching you grow and learn.

A couple of days ago Arli saw that I put Erik's is 6mo old today on the 19th. So he says, what is he getting? At least a cake right? So we decided I would make him a half year birthday cake. No presents though because that is taking it a little to far.

Erik and his 1/2 year cake.

Here are some pictures of Erik doing what he loves most.

Big Boy Bed!!!

AJ finally got a big boy bed yesterday. I have been wanting to switch him for a while now. But we also wanted to feel safe about him not using the baby monitor anymore. He did great for his first time. No getting out of bed before falling asleep anyways. I checked up on him like 10 times with in the first hour he was asleep. He did scare the crap out of Arli at midnight and me at 3am by just walking into our room. At 3 I finally put him in his crib. He did great for nap time today though, and I figured that we will put his gate up tonight so he won't scare us half to death. He is a wild sleeper as you can tell from the pictures.

The first time I checked on him.

The 2nd one like 10min later

obviously he does not wake up when falling out of bed.

Long night

So today was AJ's test. I am glad that it is over with. I am horribly tired. Yesterday he ended up not taking a nap at all. I have no clue why just did not want to. Plus he had to stay up so he finally went to bed at 12:30. But I guess the jealousy that he was able to stay up got Erik because guess what...yep he was up till 12:30 too! He just would not go to sleep. No matter what I tried. So here are both boys wide awake just before 12:30. Yes that is a mt. dew bottle by AJ and he is eating a cookie. I was trying at 12am to get him to stay up till 1am. But it did not work. The reason he is in just a diaper is when he had pj's on he was too comfy and kept almost falling asleep before 12.
Erik & AJ wide awake

10 min. later

Then as soon as I dressed him he was out, and with-in 5min of him being asleep Erik was out. Of course I fell asleep too. But then woke up and am glad because if I would not have had my alarm clock I would have slept in.

Passed Out!!!

His test went good. When we got there the nurse actually asked me if he was tired. Ummm duhh he has only had 5hrs of sleep in under 24hrs. He hated the medicine but feel asleep within minutes of having it. He is actually still asleep and it is now 3:10. But they said that some kids either sleep or stay awake for the rest of the day so I am not worried. The test results should be back in a week. Lets just pray that he does not have a hearing problem. I would hate to have him get tubes.
AJ ended up sleeping until 4:30!! He has not taken a 6+hr nap since he was like 2-3mo old.

All hooked up and ready to go.

need some ideas

So I have mentioned before that AJ has to get his hearing checked. It was finally approved by our insurance and is scheduled for next Wednesday. But there is sort of a catch. In order for him to have this test he has to be asleep. Which is fine, but they want me to make sure he does not get anymore than 5hrs of sleep on Tuesday night. How on Earth am I supposed to keep him up all night?? I mean you saw the video I just posted he will fall asleep sitting in a chair if he has to. I thought of spending a lot of time in the bath tub, and to let him not take a nap on Tuesday so he will fall asleep around 6. then wake him up around 8-9. Then let him fall back asleep at midnight and wake him up at 5am and not fall asleep until the testing.

I will be so happy when this is done with. But if he is not sleepy for this test they will have to give him medicine, and I really would like to avoid that.

To give some info on the test, just if your wondering. It is an EEG-ABR. I have no idea of what ABR means. But from what they have explained it is similar to the newborn hearing tests babies get in the hospital.

This is old, but like a couple of my fellow bloggers I do think every post should have a picture.
