A Knight's Tale

There once was a knight named AJ. He was a very brave knight. He had to set off for a mission. A mission to drive his mother and father nuts. He was doing his job too. But then one day he went to far and he got hit with a sword. The sleepy sword. This story does have a happy ending though. For this brave knight went on to see another day. As for his mission. He continues onward in fulfilling it and is determined to drive his mother and father up the walls each and everyday.
The End

Now the story behind the middle picture is that we were getting ready for a Halloween party and AJ feel asleep in his highchair 30min before we had to go. I mean he was dead asleep. I was able to get him out of his highchair, wash him off, brush his teeth, get him in his costume and he still didn't wake up. So Arli and I decided to have some fun (we're such bad parents), and made it look like AJ was killed in a battle. He slept trough our torture and I was able to get him into his car seat and he STILL wouldn't wake up. So I finally had to be really mean and think of a way to wake him up. So I set my car alarm off, and believe it or not the little bugger woke up for only 5sec. He was one tired boy. I did get him to stay awake for the party. Which was good and he had a blast. He even won best original costume.

Bloody Eyeballs

My friend through a Halloween party and I made something for the potluck. My dish was Bloody Eyeballs. They were chocolate cupcakes with red whipped cream filling and white icing with bloody veins and marshmellows for the eyes. They were a hit and I actually won the potluck dish. I was surprized about that one.

Pumpkins

My mom and I decided to carve pumpkins this year with AJ. He did not like it to much. He reacted the same way as he did with grass and with the beach. His facial expression was the same. I can't help but lagugh everytime I see it. He does not like different textures i guess. Hopefully he will by next year. Cause I love pumpkin carving.

Playing at Nannie's

We go over to my mom's house every Saturday that Arli works. She only lives 10min from his work and it saves me a lot of gas and gives my mom time with the boys. Well AJ loves to play outside there and just loves being there. We love you Nannie.

I can do it all!

I had to give both boys a bath the other day and honestly did not know how i would do it at first. I did not have that much time. Then I got the bright idea to give AJ a bath in the big tub and give Erik a bath in our bathroom sink and get him dressed on our counter top. since he is so small.

Making cookies

The other day AJ and I made some peanut butter cookies and had a blast! He was not that interested in making them. He just wanted the batter!!! What kid doesn't right? Heck I still like to eat a little.

Happy Birthday Arli!!

Today is Arli's birthday. Happy birthday honey. I just wanted everyone to know that today is his birthday and that we are so lucky to have him in our lives as a father, husband and best friend. He is truely the best husband and father in the whole world. He loves to spend time with the boys and has been so much more helpful and understanding these last few weeks. I honestly do not know what we would do with out him. I love you honey, happy birthday.

2 week pictures

So the other week I took Erik's 2wk pictures. I think they came out well. He was a little more difficult than AJ was but he will get better...I hope. Here are some of the good shots.

2 yrs with out you

This is one of my favorite pictures of Joslynn

Today is the 2yr anniversary of Joslynn's death. And it is so had to believe that we have made it this long without her. We think of her everyday. We know that she would have been the best big sister ever and is the best big sister ever in spirit. We know she watches over us and her brothers and plays with them all the time. AJ still knows who she is and still loves to talk to her pictures. Erik looks so much like her, and AJ too. But just more like her. We know that she was with me every step of the way through Erik's birth and helped keep both me and him safe. We miss you baby girl. We love you with all of our hearts.

Erik Matthew is here!!

We are happy to announce that Erik Matthew Ma has arrived! He was born on Friday September 19 at 3:11 am. He was 6lbs even and 17 3/4in long. He was 3wks early and a very big and scary surprise. It all started Friday early morning at 2am. I woke Arli up thinking my water had broken. But when he turned on the light it was not water but blood. We immediately got ready, grabbed AJ and got in the car to go to the hospital. We made it to the hospital in 10 min due to me driving 60 in 45mph zone. But I did not care and figured we would get a police escort if I were to get pulled over anyways. When we got to the hospital I was in a room within minuets and on monitors. The nurses knew I would have to have a c-section within 30min of being there. And I did. I had to be rushed into an emergency c-section at 3:02 and Erik arrived at 3:11. Erik did not have to have any oxygen or have to go to the NICU or anything. Which we are very greatfull for. Because it was an emergency I had to have general anaesthetic and Arli could not be in the room with me. After I still had a lot of bleeding and ended up having to have a blood transfusion on Saturday. But after all of that was over I was feeling a lot better besides all of the pain. But that is why they gave me drugs. I have been feeling pretty good and am able to move around a little bit. Arli has been wonderful and will hardly let me do anything. Just rest and take care of Erik. AJ is doing good. He really does not care about Erik yet as you can see in some of the pictures. But is slowly getting interested in him. He will look at him for about 10-15 sec and then go play. Erik is doing good. He is eating well and is sooo tiny. His premie pants Mom bought him just fell off of him today.

Say hello to Crush

Well my mom's friend at work raises and breeds Desert Tortoises, and my mom wanted one at first. We went over to her house on Saturday and AJ fell in love with the tortoise so we decided since my mom changed her mind we would take him. He is the cutest thing. He is only 3in long, and will probably stay that way for a while. We named him Crush because AJ loves Crush the sea turtle off of Finding Nemo. AJ loves to touch him and look at him. He gets really mad when we put him away. I do not have any pictures of AJ touching him yet as I have to teach him to touch softly. But AJ is really enjoying his new and very 1st pet. And I like it because it does not take much to keep him. Thanks Nannie for giving us Crush.

Happy 3rd birthday Joslynn

Well Sunday was Joslynn's 3rd birthday. We sent her balloons. As well as our hearts. we miss her so much. I write her a letter every year. This is this years.

Joslynn,
Hey baby girl. I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday! We love you and miss you very much and can not believe you are gone. We know you are around and watching over us and especially your baby brother. We wonder everyday what you would look like now at 3, how well you would be talking and just growing up. I know you would be so happy as you always were and I know you would be the BEST big sister in the world to AJ and soon to be Erik. AJ reminds me of you so much. The way he smiles, plays and makes the same faces as you always did. I know you two have your little conversations by the way he talks to your pictures and just loves to sit on my lap and stare at your picture on the computer.
I am so happy to know that I will one day be able to see you again and that I have found God. I wish your Daddy would open his heart and mind about God and join me and AJ in church. I know you will be watching over us and helping us get through another year without you.
Mommy and Daddy love you with all of our hearts. We miss you baby girl.

Happy 3rd Birthday
Love,
Mommy, Daddy and AJ

A poem for my Angel in Heaven

I was only here
For a little while
I brightened many lives
With my beautiful smile
My tiny little fingers
My tiny little toes
Left imprints in your heart
That will grow and grow
I know you are sad
Please do not cry
When you miss me
Think of butterflies
It isn’t fair
It had to be this way
God was ready for me
On that October day
I was carried away
On angel wings
In your memories
I will forever be

MMMMM......Water Melon

So the other night Arli and I had to go look at the car. We left AJ inside with a peice of water melon because he LOVES it and I knew we would be less than 5min. I cut him a big boy peice rather than chunks. At first he did not get it. So I had to cut off the rine. Then he got it. I litterally gave it to him before we walked out the door. We were gone about 3-4min. When we came back inside AJ was crying. I check on him. Come to find out he ate it ALL! I was shocked. He did not let a single peice fall on the ground or in his high chair.

Happy 4th of July

Aunt Pattie and AJ

Ok so I know this one is late too. But at least it is getting done. Right??? We went to good friends of ours for July 4th. AJ loved the fire works and actually fell asleep. But he was sick:( We thought he was feeling better because he had not gotten sick in over 24hrs.(which was good considering he had been getting sick 1-2 times a day since the 1st.) But he still had a good time. He did get better. After 4more days of getting sick I finally called the Bishop because our insurance did not kick in till 8-1, so I thought maybe there is a Dr in our ward that would be willing to look at him. No such luck. But Bishop Torrey did suggest to do a blessing. It worked!! He had the blessing on the 8th and did not get sick anymore from that night on. Well here are a couple of pictures from the 4th of July.

the real birthday pictures

i do not know why it did not work before but here are AJ's birthday pictures.

Happy 1st Birthday!!!

Ok I know this is late, well way late. But I have been super tired and super busy. But here it is. AJ's 1st birthady was a BLAST!!! He had lots of fun at the park. We did a water balloon fight, which he could not understand but loved getting wet. He loved his cake and was even nice enough too share with his cousin who is 4mo older than him. In return she gave him kisses. We open presents and I think so far his favorite is all of his blocks. Here are some pictures of that wonderful day.

AJ's 1st haircut!!!

Before
After

We decided to get AJ's haircut not that he had much. But we thought that if we just shaved it off that it would grow in evenly instead of having a patch of hair on the top of his head. And a patch of hair on the back of his head. He did great through it. He did not flinch or anything. Here are his before and after shots.

Disneyland!!!!

He was fasinated with Tigger

Get these ears off of me!
And this is what I meant by zoned out. This is at Playhouse Disney on stage.

Well we have been back for a while but we had a BLAST!!!! AJ loved everything to the point that it was hard for him to take a nap. He just loved watching all of the people, and not to mention Mickey Mouse! He has actually liked Mickey more since we have been back than he did before we left. He loved the rides and so did Arli and I. We were able to go on all but 3 rides at Disneyland and only on a couple at California Adventure. But that was ok because they had lots of shows and plays and parades for us to see. AJ loved the Playhouse Disney on stage. He zoned out and did not blink for the whole 30 min. He has such a good attention span. He loves the carousel. That was his favorite ride. My favorite rides were Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carriben and Buzz Lightyear. AJ actually fell asleep on Buzz and on the Nemo ride! He was so tired by the time we were done. We can not wait to go back. I think we might even go back next year. I know AJ will love it even more, and I am sure little Erik will love it even though he would be like 6-8mo old.
